Litter Registration – Breeder Guidelines.

To ensure responsible breeding and proper record maintenance, all breeders must comply with the following mandatory requirements for litter registration.
1. Minimum Age at Mating
• Sire: Must have completed 24 months of age.
• Dam: Must have completed 20 months of age.
• Age shall be calculated as on the first date of mating.

2. Breeding Interval (Dam)
• A minimum gap of six (6) months must be maintained between two consecutive litters of the same dam and A dam shall not produce more than three (3) litters within a period of two (2) years
• Applications not meeting this requirement are liable for rejection.

3. Upper Age Limit for Breeding / Inbreeding
• Female (Dam): Breeding permitted up to 8 years of age only.
• Male (Sire): Breeding permitted up to 10 years of age only.
• Minimum inbreeding should be 3-3, less then this is not acceptable.

4. Mandatory Litter Inspection
• Every litter must be physically inspected and verified by the authorized Litter Inspector prior to or during the registration process.
• The inspection report must accompany the litter registration application.
5. Registration Status of Parents
• Both Sire and Dam must be duly registered with the German Shepherd Dog Confederation (GSDC) or another recognized registry accepted by the GSDC.
• Registration pedigrees of both parents must be compulsorily attached.

6. Ownership Requirement
• The applicant must be the recorded owner of the dam at the time of mating and whelping.

7. Mandatory Documents to be Submitted
Breeders must submit the following:
• ✔ Completed Litter Registration Form
• ✔ Signed Stud Certificate
• ✔ Pedigrees of Sire and Dam
• ✔ Litter Inspection Report
• ✔ Any additional documents if called for
• Photos of the puppies with dam

8. Compliance
• Incomplete applications or those not conforming to the above guidelines are liable to rejection.
• The Association reserves the right to verify records and seek clarification wherever necessary.

Breeders are advised to follow ethical breeding practices and maintain accurate records at all times. In the future, puppies may be subject to DNA profiling whenever it is introduced by or required under the regulations of GSDC (India) and/or WUSV.
